New S&J Co. offers Eggy portable mini speakers

eggy

How many designs can a pair of speakers come in? S&J Co. of Korea decided to take a different route instead of settling for the usual boxy or rectangular shape with the Eggy portable mini speakers. This 20mm micromini unit is insanely small, packing in an impressive 4 watt of RMS alongside an integrated digital amp for all your portable audio needs. This will squarely target the notebook and netbook market which have speakers that leave much to be desired, although that too is changing these days. Since it draws power from a USB port, there is no need to pick up another adapter with you on your travels, although it will put your notebook and netbook battery under additional strain.

Latest Looftlighter

looftlighterThere is nothing quite like sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows with a cup of hot chocolate in another hand while having good company all around. Of course, the fire is there to provide ambience as well as warmth as stories are shared all around to much laughter and joy. That’s the ideal situation, but how about rewinding it backwards by a couple of hours while you frantically sweat it out to get a sustainable fire going? This is where the Looftlighter comes in, where it takes around 15 seconds to get a fire going. Basically, this handheld electric firestarter doesn’t require any flame, but will instead put out air and heat in excess of 1,000 Fahrenheit! Needless to say, we would recommend you keep this $79.99 device out of reach of children due to its dangerous nature if left in unsafe hands.[Source]

Latest Fisher-Price Power Wheels Cadillac Escalade EXT

FisherPrice-Power-wheels-Cadillac-Escalade

For a little kid, having a battery powered vehicle is as good as it gets.  Nevermind that the battery takes an eternity to charge and only keeps the device powered for what seems like a very short time.  It’s the fact that a kid can hop in a vehicle, with a friend and go round and round the yard to their heart’s content.  Well for those kids that aren’t satisfied with any old normal toy, now they can have a Cadilac branded one.

It’s not just any type of Cadillac, it’s an Escalade.  Nothing quite screams rich kid like a Power Wheels Cadillac Escalade EXT.  It would help if the child was actually a rich kid for them to be able to afford the amount of cash it’ll cost to put this under the Christmas tree.  It has 2 working doors and 2 seats, so they can have a friend with them.  It also has a working FM radio and a battery charge indicator that lets you know when it’s time to charge it up again.  The 12 volt battery can make the vehicle go up to 5 mph.  You can purchase the Escalade for $399 from Amazon.[Source]

New Canon PowerShot SD980 IS unboxing and impressions

Canon PowerShot SD980 IS unboxing and impressions

Canon held off about as long as it could, but it finally caved to the pressures of adding a pressure-sensitive screen to one of its Digital ELPHs. The SD980 IS goes down as the first-ever touchscreen PowerShot, offering a better-than-average set of specifications, a few color options, an attractive size and a 720p movie mode that helps to set it apart from some of its VGA-quality contemporaries. We took the cam for a quick spin just to see how Canon's adaptation of the touchscreen felt in real-world use, and we've posted up our impressions -- along with a few sample galleries and a raw 720p video clip -- just beyond the break.

Casio Launches New Exilim EX-FS10 Camera Is Also Your Smarmy Golf Pro

Smile shutters. Blink warnings. Fart detectors. Point and shoot cameras have been stuffed with gimmicks for years, but the arms race isn't ending any time soon. Casio just added golf swing analyzation to their Exilim line.

From what we can tell, you have a buddy hold the EX-FS10 while you hit balls at the range or on the course. The camera takes a look at the angles of your swing posture, then it chastises you with fierce blue and red lines. (Meanwhile, your buddy will purely use profanity.)

Otherwise, the Casio Exilim EX-FS10 is a typical, 9.1MP camera with perks like 1000fps burst mode, 720P video recording and 3x optical zoom. No word on price, but I think it's worth assuming that the camera is available only in Japan for the time being. [Akihabara News][Source]

New ViewSonic VPC08 keeps Windows XP,

The xpPhone isn't even out yet and already it has competition. ViewSonic has announced its own take on the idea of a phone with Windows XP as the OS, in the form of the VPC08. With an Intel ULV processor, half a gigabyte of RAM, and 8GB of storage, it has just about enough to let you run XP productively, and once you open up the clamshell casing you'll find a 4.3-inch display and a full QWERTY keyboard to do it with. The outside is adorned with a 2 megapixel camera, plus a 2-inch screen and numeric keypad for your old school phone needs. An asking price of $800 and what we suspect to be pretty atrocious battery life will likely be the biggest hindrances on this device's path to respectability, but all the same, we totally wanna play with one. You should mosey on past the break to find a picture of the retro-looking externals.

Nre Yamaha's yAired-equipped MCR-140 Micro Stereo

Yamaha seems to be pushing its newly unveiled yAired technology pretty hard, with the second system to sport it unveiled just weeks after the first. The $399.95 MCR-140 is far from being the most stylish mini stereo we've seen -- in fact, it's probably one of the ugliest -- but it is available in a rainbow's worth of hues (or just ten), and it does talk to iPods and subwoofers sans cabling. Aside from that, you'll also get an old fashioned CD player, a front-panel USB socket, an iPod dock on the top, FM radio tuner and mini jack inputs for other sources. The box itself packs a pair of 4-inch drivers and ships with a bundled remote, and if you're not so interested in cutting cords, a yAired-less MCR-040 is available for $120 less.

Dell Latitude XT2

The Dell Latitude XT2 Tablet PC has gone on sale through Amazon.com, priced at ,459. Announced back in February, the Latitude XT2 uses a 12.1-inch WXGA (1,280 x 800) multitouch-capable capacitive touchscreen, paired with Intel’s Core 2 Duo SU9400 1.40GHz processor and 2GB of DDR3 memory.

There’s also a 120GB 5,400rpm hard-drive, WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth and an ExpressCard slot. The Amazon seller also includes a DVD burner E-Module, allowing for software installation and easy backup to CD and DVD, which explains the slightly higher price tag than the ,399 we’ve seen previously.

Early hands-on reports of the Dell Latitude XT2 were glowing, with the capacitive touchscreen receiving particular praise. As well as responding to finger-touch input (including gestures such as pinch-and-spread zooming, and rotation), the XT2 also ships with a special battery-free EM stylus for precision work. According to the seller, the Latitude XT2 should ship within 6-10 business days.

i watch

It seems that Apple guys just didnt have enough..
We are hearing that Apple is readying a iWatch device that will be sold in the $299 range. The brain of the the gadget is supposed to be a 2gig chip and there is a touch screen for selecting the menu. Now, this can be a blessing for people who want eveything at their fingertips.

Also rumours are out that Apple plans on partnering with Nike for custom bands for the crazy sports fans. Other variants are planned for release like a iWatch Red that gives a portion of the profits to the Global Fund to fund programs for women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa. From a technical point of view, this will be the first “i” device that will not have a standard iPod connection on it.

No idea on how the device is gonna charge, but speculations are out telling the device will sync with iTunes through Bluetooth. Some of the functions which is coming bundled will be iCalendar syncing as well as a contact management system. The body of the watch will of course hav that iPhoneish style. The band will be easily customizable,so get ready for prepare to fish out some more cash for getting the cooler look on the gadget with the lovely accessories.

The Marketing plans are all ready so it seems the product is further down the pipeline than we actually anticipated. Also, the release pictures hav not yet been shown. So, everything remains for the imagination of the "i" fan. These pictures are just some conceptual pictures of iWatch.

iwatch

ipod touch 3rd generation

Wireless radio component specifications contained within beta distributions of iPhone 3.0 firmware reveal support for a new chip enabling low power 802.11n that’s bound for Apple’s third-generation iPod touch, and by extension, the next iPhone.

AppleInsider is reporting that the version of the existing Broadcom chip that supplies WiFi and Bluetooth on existing models adds new support for 802.11n features, including the ability to find and join 5GHz networks, according to resource files for the device.

Current iPhone and iPod touch models only support 5GHz 802.11a networks or 2.4GHz 802.11b/g networks, forcing users who want the top speed of 802.11n — available on the latest crop of MacBooks — but compatibility with 802.11b/g networks to set up a 2.4GHz compatible network.

The compromise forces the wireless network to deal with interference on a crowded 2.4GHz band.

Support for 802.11n in the next-gen iPhone and iPod touch models would also give the devices a channel bonding (using two channels at once to double the top reception speed) and MIMO (multiple-input, multiple-output) kick in the proverbial pants.

Other features related to 802.11n include, according to AppleInsider:

  • Space Time Block Coding (STBC), which sends the same data across multiple antennas for redundancy against radio interference;
  • Short Guard Interval (SGI), which increases the data rate by squeezing out shorter padding intervals;
  • A-MPDU, the aggregation of multiple MAC-level service data units;
  • Block Ack, which increases efficiency by transmitting multiple data frames followed by only one acknowledgement frame in a transmission block;
  • Greenfield mode, the increased efficiency gained by dropping 802.11a/b/g backward compatibility;
  • RIFS, reduced interframe spacing, which minimizes unused radio dead time by cutting the interval time between sent packets.

As expected, power management is also important in the next generation, and the new devices are set to have a special integrated power management unit and a shared Bluetooth and WiFi receive signal path, which “eliminates the need for an external power splitter while maintaining excellent sensitivity for both Bluetooth and WLAN,” AppleInsider reports.

Maybe, just maybe, that means that Wi-Fi and 3G on the iPhone and iPod touch won’t crawl.

Features and benefits

Powering the newest and most exciting Mobile Internet Devices, Intel® Atom™ processor technology unleashes the best Internet experiences on the go.¹ enabling you to enjoy fast performance, smooth video streaming and playback, and brilliant graphics—all in a powerful and pocketable device.

With devices getting smaller, sleeker, and lighter than ever, you'll be able to choose from a variety of exciting new devices to keep you connected, entertained, informed and productive- and meet the demanding needs of your highly mobile lifestyle.¹

Consumer lifestyles have become more mobile and dependent on needing access to the internet in more places than ever before. Devices are getting smaller and require high performance processors that consume low power. Mobile Internet Devices based on Intel® Atom™ processor technology enable more of everything you love on-the-go:

  • Put great performance in the palm of your hand. Based on the latest 45nm process technology, the Intel® Atom™ processor, the fastest processor among sub-3W processors, uses groundbreaking silicon design that packs big performance in a remarkably small space. With features like Hyper-Threading Technology* and Power Optimized Front Side Bus, end users can get the same internet experience they are used to on their PC with faster responsiveness and web page loads, plus the ability to multitask - all in a smaller, more portable form factor.
  • Video in More Places. Sharing videos on the web has become increasingly mainstream among end users. With support for more video players and codecs, you are able to view the latest videos with ease. You can also view HD content on your Mobile Internet Device, with support for up to 720p and 1080i HD video formats. This is enabled by the single-chip Intel® System Controller Hub, which features Intel® Clear Video Technology for MIDs, allowing for low power, full-frame, and hardware accelerated video playback.
  • Enjoy 3D Graphics Enjoy enhanced user interfaces and visual effects with the high performance, low power graphics engine of the Intel® System Controller Hub featuring support for DX9L and OpenGL which enable a new class of applications for mobile devices, including select PC Games.
  • Long battery life keeps you going. The Intel® Atom™ processor is an ultra low-power processor. Along with power saving features in the Intel® System Controller Hub, like Deep Power Down Technology and Intel® Display Power Saving Technology, you can stay connected longer without having to plug in as often.
  • Find connections when you need them Connect wirelessly where and when you want-at home, in the office, or on the go, hitting up hotspots around town or around the world. Wireless Connectivity on Mobile Internet Devices is supported in a variety of ways: Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G or WiMAX.²
